Getting Comfortable With The Flow Of Life

Un-conditioning is key to regaining oursanity

Isn’t it time to reflect on whether the rule book you have been given applies to how you want to live your life?

Your daily dose of sanity

It’s time for each of us to get comfortable with the flow of life.

Day #14 of Sanity

Should you get comfortable with uncertainty or, should you get comfortable with the fact that change is simply part of life? What is the question for you?

In the book, I talk about the need to un-condition before joining the journey to regaining our sanity. Isn’t it time to reflect on whether the rule book you have been given applies to how you want to live your life?

In business, organizational change management, for example, is an antiquated practice as it is rarely integrated and becomes the flavor of the month initiative. It did serve its purpose for large technology implementations in the 1990s but today, we need a new language at work where we create human-centered organizations. The old language of engagement, change and continuous cost cutting for the sake of efficiency and productivity will be challenged over the next decade.

And so yes, we need to simply get comfortable with life as an ebb and flow of challenges and opportunities. And in the 21st century, the opportunity is to tap into our curiosity and remember that it is not about getting comfortable as change and uncertainty are guaranteed to be part of this flow. It is about connecting deeply with ourselves and  creating something meaningful for us and future generations.
