A New Form Of Competition

It’s time for each of us to shift to healthy competition that lifts each other.

Your daily dose of sanity

It’s time for each of us to shift to healthy competition that lifts each other.

Day #26 of Sanity

Our society conditions us to fear. We are taught that danger is everywhere, especially if we are entering into the space of the unknown. We have been conditioned to embrace predictability and routine, while fearing that we won’t get everything on our “to do” list done. We too often come together in business to solve pending problems simply out of fear that the competition will outperform or out-innovate us. We tend to spend more time simply protecting and surviving than creating with pure joy and curiosity. Both fear and hope are available to each of us. It’s a choice. Life is all about the flow and change is part of it.

We are entering a world where individual and corporate sanity and wellbeing matter more than profits or competition, where your imagination can take you into a world of opportunities to explore the inherent beauty of business when it is aligned with a higher purpose. This is why the work we do is focused on Purpose + Profit = Next Generation Business Models.

Somehow many people have overcomplicated business and have lost some of our common sense. The questions we need to be asking are: “Where are we going?” “What do we stand for?” “Do we have a shared path?” And we have to invest in listening. We have the tools we need to have amazing conversations, and yet we waste so much time trying to make a point and be right, when that’s not the point at all.

Ask yourself:

  • If I was an observer of my life, what would I see?
  • What do I stand for?
  • What path am I on? Who is on the path with me?
  • How do I truly listen or do I just want to be heard? What does it mean to me to listen and be heard? Is it a matter of being right or engaging in dialogue?
  • Do I compete to take someone down or to lift others? Why?
  • How do I come to peace with where I am headed with deep purpose?
